This course aims at utilization of both lectures and Laboratory practice to introduce the nature and uses of computers. It introduces students to Computers and Computer Systems.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
- To help students to have knowledge on;
- The basics of computers (processing, software, hardware, memory, input/output devices)
- Introduction to operating systems (Windows, Linux, UNIX)
- Introduction to computer Applications (word processors, spread, presentations, databases)
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Upon successful completion of the course, students shall be able to:
- Utilize basic computer terminology.
- Understand computer hardware.
- Develop confidence with computer application software, operating systems, and online learning management system (AC Online). Utilities will also be emphasized.
- Navigate through the AC website.
- Practice file management/maintenance.
