This course is designed to be an educational exploration of the legal and ethical issues in procurement and supply chain management, this course will provide a foundation of the principles and general concepts of the law and ethics  as they are  applied to the  procurement and supply chain management profession.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Identify and define procurement legal terms, concepts and principles. 
  • Apply basic legal concepts and principles to practical  procurement and supply chain management situations
  • Describe how the three categories of law ― the common law of contracts, statutory law and administrative law ― apply to procurement and supply chain management.
  • Describe how the laws and ethical codes establish the rights and obligations of all parties.
  • Distinguish between ethical and legal requirements and apply the appropriate actions and conduct. 
  • Describe the role of the procurement and supply chain management professional in the application of legal and ethical codes in accordance with the commonly accepted practices of the profession
