This course provides a basic background on historical and contemporary perspective on Terminal illness and dying. Attention is given to worldwide practices regarding to dying and terminal illnesses as well as cross cultural interpretation. Emphasis is placed on the special situation of terminal illnesses and counselling concepts and these include. Stages of dying, coping with the life lose among the patients and the significant others, euthanasia, will making, facilitating an appropriate death, skills used when counseling the terminally ill clients among others.
