Year 2, Semester 1

This course will give you an overview of systems and network administration in a networked environment both UNIX / LINUX and Windows. You will learn about common system administration tasks and practices and how to implement and maintain standard services like email, file sharing, DNS and similar. The course is primarily dealing with the UNIX/ LINUX and Windows operating systems and especially with Linux and Windows-based servers, but some information about the most fundamental differences between various UNIX/ LINUX and Windows systems will be provided. In the tutorials you will be instructed how to install, setup and maintain your own Linux and Windows server machines. You'll have to administer your own machines throughout the course and perform various system administration and security related tasks on those machines.
