COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course introduces fundamentals techniques of data communication networking. It includes formatting and transmission of digital information over various media. Examines vocabulary, concepts, standards, models, hardware issues and trends. It also covers the basic theory of data transmission. The link between the communicating devices and link protocol are discussed.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
The objectives of this course are to provide students with the following:
- A solid basis on the theoretical and practical understand of data communication fundamentals.
- Knowledge of the data communication process, the nature of the transmission media and techniques of data transmission.
- Knowledge of the emerging technologies in data communication.
